Gigi (they/them) has been active in their local, southern Maine scene since discovering it in 2013. They soon gravitated strongly towards rope bondage (especially Japanese shibari or kinbaku) due to the connection and energy exchange that can occur during rope scenes. It quickly became an important part of their life.
Due to their newfound love of rope, they were one of the two original founders of Black Knot Rope Group (B.K.R.G.) in 2017. They now have several years of experience in topping/rigging, bottoming, self-tying, teaching, and performing/doing demos. They're an avid floorwork aficionado, but they also love partial- and full-suspensions.
Over the years, they have learned, grown, and cultivated their style, but the aforementioned connection and energy exchange have always been what has drawn them to rope and kept them captivated - so their passion has only grown. Their style is rhythmic, sensual, and sometimes sadistic, with a dash of primal aggression.
Gigi's top goals include providing their local community (and beyond) with 1) more education about shibari and consent and 2) more opportunities to get involved. They're passionate about giving back what they can to the community through activism and fundraising, and they're proud to have B.K.R.G. be one of the first groups in Maine to become coalition partners with the National Coalition for Sexual Freedom (N.C.S.F.). In addition, B.K.R.G. makes a yearly donation to the National Center for Transgender Equality (N.C.T.E.), and they strive to be a leader and ally in providing an inclusive space for all to have access to quality B.D.S.M. education.
Their teaching and performing engagements include:
